Google Docs Gets a Makeover

Here at Cozy Digital we have been reluctant to use Google docs because, to be honest, we had a bad experience with Google calendar and never dared to use any of the other services.

In saying that, a couple of days ago Google posted on one of its many blogs information about improvements to the system. Judging by the video below it could be worth us taking a closer look at Google docs.

The main advantage of Google docs is, of course, that its all done in the cloud which makes sharing and calibrating on documents easy and fast. If you don’t have an exchange server this can be difficult and costly and in comparison Google Docs is free.

Some of the new features that are available are as follows:

  • Higher fidelity document import: This will make it easier to import all your Word, Excel etc. documents.
  • Speed and responsiveness: One of the former problems was the speed at which the system worked. But now Google claims this is a thing of the past.
  • Faster collaboration: Google docs now supports up to 50 people with the ability to work together and collaborate on any document.

You can find a lot more information at the Google docs blog or watch the video explaining some of the new features below.

Do you use Google docs? What has your experience of using it been like? What do you feel are its limitations ? We would love to hear your answers to these questions.
