Google’s AdWords Support Could Try harder?

By strange coincidence we mentioned in our post yesterday 29th of March Improve your AdWords Account in 1 minute 15 seconds and now Google on the same day released a post on their conversion room blog highlighting 5 short videos on YouTube that users of AdWords would find helpful when managing their account.

This all reinforces what I said yesterday about how helpful Google are when it comes to things like this and I’m not just talking AdWords. Google Analytics springs to mind.

Although I think that Google are really good at supplying help via videos, blog posts, and webinars. A recent remark made by Perry Marshall on his blog has a home truth about Google’s AdWords Email support, which I would agree with. As I have had firsthand experience of. And I quote:

“sends you a useless, cut-and-paste, non-answer to your question”

Although I must say I have always found their phone support staff very friendly and helpful but at times seem to not have the knowledge to answer your question hence the useless emails that they sometimes send you that are clearly taken straight from Google’s Help centre and are not relevant to your query.

Great as these videos are, and the support Google gives in general is good I just feel not enough of the people using AdWords are seeing these videos. Maybe Google should send an AdWords newsletter to promote these videos, just a thought. It is also clear that improving their customer services is important to them as they are always trying to get you to answer customer feedback surveys which I would recommend you answer as this will improve things.
