Please Say 10 times – The Keyword Meta Tag is Dead

People just don’t seem to be getting the message about the keywords Meta Tag and to be honest I really would rather be writing about something else. People just don’t seem to understand that this Meta tag is dead and really is not worth your attention.

Google doesn’t take them into consideration and neither should you. This has been highlighted in the recent Webmasters help video on its YouTube channel. Where Ryan asked if there was any reason why he should be spending more than 5 minutes creating Meta keywords.

Matt Cutts began by explaining about the Meta description tag and gave some great advice of best practices for this and at the end of the video said:

Keyword Meta tags, I wouldn’t spend any time at all on that, personally
