The all-seeing eye of Google seems to be gaining ground every day. Android phones look set for a series of power-ups to the already impressive features offered by Google Goggles.

An in-the-pipeline update looks like the perfect tools for people who travel abroad a lot, or for people looking to learn a new language. It will allow the user to translate, with incredible speed, sections of text from one language to another. It uses a similar technique to Google Goggles, you wave your anti-iPhone at your linguistic target and the camera captures the text as an image. It then whisked off to the Google-master-control-program who returns the translated text. It’s really cool!

Another update is available straight away in the form of Google Shopper. This again looks a lot like a super-charged Google Goggles, but this time it allows the user to search for products. Just like ‘Goggles’ you let the camera take a quick snapshot of the product you are interested in. Google can then show you prices and reviews of that product, you can even scan the barcode if that’s easier.
