Adobe Shows Future Photoshop Secrets

Photoshop is one of those ubiquitous applications that almost needs no introduction. For a photo editing software, its level of public awareness is really quite incredible. To say that it is the industry standard photo editor you must really first ask ‘which industry are you talking about?’ as the reach that Photoshop has breaches almost all sectors of pc based image manipulation.

Adobe CS4 Web Premium

Photoshop is part of the extremely popular Adobe CS4 Web Premium product

From Web Design to graphics for broadcast, you can bet that Photoshop has had a hand in there somewhere.

The current version of Photoshop, CS4, has been with us for a while now, so its understandable that people are starting to consider what the future might hold for this pixel-pushing-behemoth. Luckily the Photoshop team are releasing some teaser videos showing some of the awesome new features currently in development.

In this video the idea of “Content-Aware Fill” is looked at – where Photoshop actually seems to be aware of the section of the image you are currently editing. The examples show some really impressive examples of how normally complex image editing can now be done in a fraction of the time via this new tool.

If you are a Photoshop user (guess that’ll be quite a lot of you) then this video is well worth watching. Only warning I’d put on it would be that you’ll probably want to buy the upgrade when it’s released!
