Google TV Offers Apps On Launch

Google TV can be a slightly confusing proposition; surely a company with the size and scope that Google has can manage to drum up enough support for this new platform? We’ve talked previously about how Google have teamed up with Sony, but as always it’ll be content that will attract people – a shiny new bit of hardware alone will not be enough (although personally shiny new bits of kit have me reaching for my wallet regardless).

Google certainly seems to want to allay any fears about a lack of content for their new system, in a recent blog post they talk about how a number of their ‘content partners’ including Turner Broadcasting (Cartoon Network, CNN, etc.), NBC Universal, HBO and American sporting giant the NBA. What’s more they also talk about being able to watch content on-demand from Amazon and Netflix.

All in all it looks like it could be a pretty big deal, here is hoping that much of this content makes it’s way onto UK TV screens soon.
