Amazing Final Video Selections for YouTube Play Event

Once every two years Youtube and the Guggenheim team up to showcase the best online creative video makers the world has to offer. YouTube Play today announced its selection of the most innovative, most unique and most groundbreaking videos to have been submitted over the last 2 years. Of the 23,000 videos submitted, the Guggenheim curators selected just 125. Then the YouTube Play selection jury selected a final 25. The work submitted has been so good that they actually had to increase the number of videos selected from 20.

The Guggenheim is a museum of modern contemporary art. Much in the same way YouTube does, it is a place which embraces the new and the current and the most innovative no matter where the artist comes from. This event is a great way to add the degree of credibility YouTube needs to drag itself from the mire of attention seeking, drivel spouting, wannabe famous for two seconds, not funny or interesting, pointless guff, which clogs up its servers.

Watch some of these videos, all of them if you have time, and try not to agree that YouTube is the best modern medium for art. We are the YouTube generation, and that is not a bad thing.

Here is my favourite video:
