The 4G iPhone is Looking iGood

It’s been under speculation for a while now but it appears that the next Cozy Digital for the iPhone is underway and should be available within the year. Furthermore it’s going to offer a 4G service and will be bolstered with a variety of new features many of which will be all the more effective through the speed of the 4G service.

If like many others you where under the impression that 3G was still in its ascendancy then you’ll be pleased to hear that the 4th generation is already upon us and several networks are already working on building their 4G networks to support this. This calls into question which network will be supplying the iPhone, as their current contract is with AT&T who are only in the beginnings of providing a 4G network, while others like Sprint are already prepared. There is also speculation that with AT&T’s exclusive contract with iPhone ending this year, Verizon Wireless could take up the mantle of iPhone provider. Add to this the lagging on MMS and app restrictions on AT&T and you start to see how staying with them could hamper the iPhone's progress.

Most importantly however is to answer the question; what will the new iPhone offer? Well you won’t be disappointed, unlike the last iPhone update this appears to be more than just a re-tweak. With an abundance of features and hardware changes this looks like a whole new animal.

With a new slimmer body design and Organic LED screen it’s a better looking phone from the outset and the high quality screen is bolstered by the inclusion of a high definition camera, camcorder and audio jack which will allow you to really make use of the 4G network to stream and download full HD content. In addition it will feature an iChat camera on the front for video chat as well as an expansive memory in 32G to 64G variations, a massively improved removable battery and a true GPS device built in.

All of these additions make the new iPhone more than a little enticing, but the one area where it will continue to fall flat is its lack of flash support, which will continue until the day that Apple and Flash can kiss and make-up. Not any time soon then. However, on the plus side (and we might need a drum roll for this)…

…the new iPhone will support multitasking. This is a big step forward for the iPhone, and it’s about time too, as the speed and power of the new phone would be a bit wasted without it.

It looks as though Apple have really stepped up their game at just the right time as the Windows Android phone is also fast approaching.

In the mean time, here's a concept design video for the new iPhone release.
