The Quick Fire Fox Will Soon Be Mobile

The BBC is reporting that Mozilla Firefox, the popular web browser, will soon be releasing a version for mobile phones. A representative said that the launch is “days away”.

It is set to release with some really neat features, including the ability to sync your on-phone browser with your desktop version. Not sound too interesting? Well one of the benefits is that as you browse on your desktop machine it replicates that on your phone, so if you have to leave your computer you can simply carry on browsing on your phone!

The browser will initially be available from the Nokia Ovi store for N900 users only. But plans are afoot for versions to run on Google’s Android and Microsofts Windows Mobile. The Apple iPhone was mentioned, but it seems it may be a considerable amount of time before Firefox is being prodded by iPhone users.

Looking at this news, you’d have to say that the creation of a new web browser, particular a free one from a renowned source such as Mozilla must be good for the mobile internet market. With mobile phones becoming more powerful and more popular, it’s seems like only a matter of time before mobile browsing commands a considerable section of the market.
